Having helped his brother King Edward IV (Cedric Hardwicke) take
the throne of England, the jealous hunchback Richard, Duke of York
(Laurence Olivier), plots to seize power for himself. Masterfully
deceiving and plotting against nearly everyone in the royal court,
including his eventual wife, Lady Anne (Claire
Bloom), and his brother George, Duke of Clarence (John Gielgud), Richard
orchestrates a bloody rise to power before finding all his gains
jeopardized by those he betrayed.
When a postmortem finds that a murdered fisherman was exposed to
unusual amounts of radiation, Dr. Ted Stevens (Kent Taylor) decides to
investigate. Out looking for clues, he meets a young beauty named Lois
(Cathy Downs), whose father, Professor King (Michael Whalen), runs a
local marine biology lab. Ted discovers that the
elder King's secret experiments with atomic energy have resulted in the
creation of a murderous aquatic beast, and he must act fast to prevent
more needless deaths.
This Disney animated classic follows a pampered cocker spaniel
named Lady (Barbara Luddy) whose comfortable life slips away once her
owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds
herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and
protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp (Larry
Roberts). A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their
many differences, along with more drama at Lady's household, threaten to
keep them apart.
After inventing the "bouncing bomb," which can skip across water
until it encounters a dam to explode, Dr. Barnes Wallis (Michael
Redgrave) struggles for years to develop his new device for use in World
War II. Once the bombs are ready to be tested, Wing Commander Guy
Gibson's (Richard Todd) squadron must be specially
trained to drop the sensitive weapons on Germany's Ruhr Dams. Based on
true events, this British film features a legendary grand finale of
special effects.
